Full-Day Field Excursion
The fourth day
of GSS6 – Soil Security & Health Advances will be dedicated to a
full-day field excursion showcasing key landscapes and management systems in Andalucía that illustrate contemporary challenges and opportunities in soil security and
soil health.
Participants
will visit a series of sites selected to demonstrate:
-Soil condition and degradation processes in Mediterranean
environments.
-Agricultural production systems and their interaction with soil
condition/health.
-Natural capital, connectivity, and landscape-scale soil
processes.
-Practical approaches to soil conservation, restoration, and
monitoring.
-Policy-relevant case studies linking science, land management,
and governance.
The excursion
will provide opportunities for in situ discussion with researchers,
practitioners, and land managers, allowing participants to connect symposium
themes with real-world contexts. Transport will be provided, with departure
from the conference venue at 07:00 and return by 17:00.
This field day
is intended as a capstone to the symposium, reinforcing the integration of
science, practice, and policy through direct engagement with soil and
landscapes of regional and global significance.
