It is a great pleasure to welcome you to
the Sixth Global Soil Security Symposium (GSS6), focused on the theme of Soil
Security and Health Advances. We are delighted to bring together
researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and landholders from
across disciplines and regions across the world to engage in dialogue on one of
the most fundamental resources underpinning food systems, ecosystems, and human
wellbeing.
Soil security and soil health sit at the
intersection of science, practice, and policy. This symposium has been designed
to reflect that integration - bringing together advances in measurement and
monitoring, insights from agricultural and natural systems, perspectives from
landholders, and emerging approaches in education, governance, and law. Across
three days, the program deliberately weaves these themes together, encouraging
exchange across traditional boundaries and fostering conversations that extend beyond
individual disciplines.
GSS6 continues the Global Soil Security
Symposium series by emphasising both scientific rigour and real-world
relevance. We are especially pleased to feature keynote speakers who will
challenge and inspire us, contributed talks that showcase cutting-edge research
and practice, and poster sessions that create space for discussion, reflection,
and collaboration.
We hope this symposium provides not only a
forum for sharing knowledge, but also an opportunity to build connections,
generate new ideas, and strengthen our collective commitment to securing soil
for present and future generations.
We warmly welcome you and wish you a
stimulating and enjoyable symposium.
